What We Believe

Statement of Faith

Scripture

The Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired without error, and the infallible rule of faith and practice. Revealed to man by the Holy Spirit. It is unchanging, and cannot be added to, subtracted from, or superseded in any way. It is complete and is God's final revelation to man. The Bible is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction, and reproof. It is authoritative and it contains all that is needed for guidance in godliness and practical Christian conduct. (2 Tim 3:16)

The Trinity

The Scriptures testify that there is only One God, Creator of all, eternally self-existent in Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; who function in unity as One, all fully God, co-equal and co-eternal to one another. (Matt 28:18-20) All are to be respected, honored, and worshipped as God.

Jesus

In the Deity of Jesus Christ (John 8:58), in His virgin birth (Is 7:14), in His sinless life (Heb 4:15), in His miracles (John 2:1-11), in His atoning death (Rom 3:24-26), resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father (John 20:17).

God sent His Son Jesus to save all those who put their trust in Him.

Atonement

That all people are separated from God because of sin and each individual is responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all who would repent of their sin and confess Jesus Christ as Lord by His grace. When a person repents of sin and accepts Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, trusting Him and Him alone to save, that person is immediately Born Again and sealed by the Holy Spirit, all his/her sins past, present, and future are forgiven, and that person is adopted into the family of God.

Salvation

Salvation is a free gift of God and is received by responding in faith to the Grace of God, not of works.

The Salvation of Man and his only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. (John 3:16)

The Redemptive Work of Christ on the Cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer. (James 5:14-16)

The Christian Life

Salvation should produce in the believer a lifestyle of loving obedience and service to Jesus Christ our Savior.

The Christian life is filled with trials, tests, and warfare against s spiritual enemy.

The Role of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Through the proclamation of the Gospel, He persuades men to repent of their sins and confess Jesus as Lord. He unites believers to Jesus Christ in faith, brings about the new birth, and dwells within the redeemed, seals, and empowers every believer for Christian witness and service, baptizing them into the Body of Christ.

We further believe that the Holy Spirit will come upon any believer who asks in faith, enabling him/her to preach the Gospel in power. (Acts 1:8)

We also believe the Holy Spirit continues to give spiritual gifts to believers and that these gifts are valid for today and are to be exercised within the scriptural guidelines. The healthy exercising of diverse gifts within a unified body is essential to the mission of the Church in the world today. (1 Corinthians 12-14)

We believe that love is more important than all the gifts, and without love all exercise of spiritual gifts is worthless.

The Role of the Church

The Church is made up of the entirety of true believers past, present, and future. The Church is the living spiritual body of Christ.

The Church is commanded to gather together in order to fellowship with like-minded believers, partake in Communion, pray, and to hear the Word of God.

To make disciples of all nations and to present the saints complete in Christ.

To facilitate a culture of mercy, forgiveness, acceptance, and love in order for God’s people to be free to grow.

Ordinances of the Church

Water baptism and Communion are not required for Salvation, but should be performed in obedience to Christ’s command and as a testimony to God.

Baptism is a public visual and symbolic demonstration of a person’s union with Christ in the likeness of His death and resurrection. It signifies that a former way of life has been put to death along with the bondage of sin; now raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Acts 10:47)

Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, should only be observed by those who have become genuine followers of Christ. The symbolism of the breaking of Christ’s body and the shedding of His blood on our behalf is a sign of continued participation in the atoning benefits of Christ’s death. An attitude of faith and self-examination should preclude receiving Communion. (1 Cor 11:23-28)

Marriage

We hold to the Biblical definition of marriage as ordained by God to be between one man and one woman. (Mt 19:4-5, Jn 2:1-11)

Escatology

In the pre-tribulational rapture of the church is the next future event of God’s eternal plan. There is no event or sign that must come before Christ comes on the clouds for His Church. The rapture of all believers will occur prior to the Tribulation. (Rev 3:10)

We believe that the Second Coming of Christ with His saints to rule on the earth will be literal, physical, visible, personal, and pre-millennial. (1 Thess 4:16-18)

A 1,000 year kingdom on earth.

The judgement of the just and unjust will result in the righteous living and reigning with Christ forever, serving Him in unending praise and glory; and those who remain outside of Christ, including Satan and his hosts to be eternally separated from the presence of God, enduring eternal punishment in the lake of fire.

After this there shall be a new heaven and a new earth.

This motivates us to holy living, heartfelt worship, committed service, diligent study of God’s Word, regular fellowship.

Goal

We seek to teach the Word of God in such a way that its message can be applied to an individual’s life, leading that person to greater maturity in Christ.

We reject doctrinal viewpoints or spiritual phenomena, which are based solely on experience. We look to the Word of God for the basis of all our faith and practice.

Vision

Our vision is to see people become fully mature followers of Jesus.

To encourage them in the love of God, equipping them in the Word of God, and empowering them to flow with the Holy Spirit.
